SIG: HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND CRYPTO
WELCOME TO SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP ONÂ HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND CRYPTO
Uncovering the Latest Findings
As a Special Interest Group, we are proud to have created a collaborative and open-minded Social+Science+Research+Lab.
SIG ACTIVITIES
Primary Areas of Interest
WHITE HAT CONFERENCE
During the conference, the subject matter experts will share their expertise on emerging technologies, laws, and policy, as well as challenges that law enforcement has faced. They will also demonstrate innovative investigation techniques, which in turn will lead to more efficient investigations and successful prosecutions.
CINA GRANT APPLICATION
Over the years, the use of cryptocurrency is reportedly prevalent in illicit darkweb marketplaces, especially in sex and drug trafficking incidents and various money laundering schemes. The project will assist law enforcement agencies to identify and acquire potential evidential artifacts from contemporary consumer technologies, which can then be used to support the elements of proof required in a successful prosecution
PUBLICATIONS
SIG is currently working on a couple of potential publications including Special Issue in International Journal of Cybersecurity Intelligence and Cybercrime and Distributed Ledger Technologies: Research and Practice. We are also looking forward working with other professional organizations and academic institutions for advanced research projects or training module development.
